Delicious Cupcakes!

Oh so sweet is the phrase that comes to mind about cupcakes…

I don’t know about you but I have been in love with the cupcake idea for years. They’re fun, they’re whimsical and they even come in many flavors to choice from…

For couples looking beyond the traditional wedding cake, cupcakes offer the modern day alternative to a traditional wedding cake. You can stock cupcakes on towering tiers or treat each guest to a sweet token of your wedded bliss!

Have your cake and eat it too!
One of the most beautiful new trends in wedding cupcake tower ideas is to create a small wedding cake to place at the top of the tower. This is perfect for brides who want to include a wedding cake topper, and makes a dramatic statement. By having the cake decorated with all the colors of your cupcakes, you can tie the entire piece together and you will have a gorgeous wedding cupcake tower.

The wonderful thing about a wedding is that you can choose what you want – not what tradition says you should have. By finding wedding cupcake tower ideas that please you, you can take advantage of the simplicity and ease of cupcake towers and the absolute beauty that can be made when using them.

Makeup and Skin Care

All eyes will be on you on your wedding day, of course you'll be wearing the perfect dress, the shoes, the jewelry, but what about your skin??? in order to get a gorgeous glowing look on your face you have to take care of your skin..

Here are a few great tips from Bride.com for your skin to get it ready for your big day!

Makeup & Skin Care

Flawless finish
Start a skincare regimen at least six months before your wedding day. If you don't already have one, visit a dermatologist who will help get you on track.

Skin savers
Purchase products that work with your skin—not against it. Harsh scrubs or cleansers will only make sensitive skin break out more, while mild cleansers won't effectively clean oily skin.

Top service
Get regular facials at a reputable salon. If you don't have a facialist, seek recommendations from friends and brides in your area.

Sun safety
Wear sunscreen every day. Seeking out a moisturizer with a built-in SPF (15 or higher, please!) is a foolproof way to make sure you incorporate it into your daily routine.

ABC’s of skin care
Don't forget that healthy skin doesn't only come from cleansers and moisturizers. Eat right, exercise and get plenty of sleep.

Best face forward
Use makeup to accent your best feature: Draw attention to your eyes, for example, by using subtly contrasting colors (think slate blue for brown eyes and soft violet for blue eyes).

A bit bolder
Your wedding day is not the time to attempt a new look—you want to feel comfortable in your own skin. But realize you’ll want to apply your makeup a bit darker than normal. Photographs can make you look washed out.

Hands on care
Starting weekly manicures at least two months prior to your wedding will give you the healthiest nails possible. Apply cuticle oil and moisturizer regularly at home.

Smile bright
Visit your dentist for professional whitening treatments, or use whitening toothpaste and a do-it-yourself bleaching kit at home.

Wax pretty
Schedule final waxing appointments a week or two before your big day. If you’ve never had your eyebrows shaped, start two months in advance to perfect the look.

Absolutely Glowing look!

Color Palette Inspiration

Remember, the colors that you’ll choose for your wedding will set the tone for your entire event.

On your first meeting with Wuilmark Events, couples determine the overall they will like to have for their wedding. Traditionally, a couple will have two colors that they use for their theme. The color theme will be consider and used for things such as bridesmaid’s dresses, flowers, décor, table linens, the cake, and even your invitations.

When choosing your colors keep in consideration the following

What mood do you want to create?
A romantic feel with soft colors
An elegant feel with pastel colors
Or
A dramatic mood with vibrant colors

The location of your ceremony and reception
It’s a good idea to select your colors after you know the location of your ceremony and reception for the wedding, otherwise there is a risk that what you go with can clash with what is in place at those locations. Then those colors can become a distraction for you and your guests instead of a lovely way to enhance the beauty of your wedding day.

The season of the year
For example in the spring and summer season lighter colors are more appealing.

In the fall and winter dark colors seem to emerge more often.

You want to make the same approach for your wedding colors as well. You own background may be the biggest influence though when it comes to the colors you will use.

Cultural traditions
Many people and event cultures associate different colors with different meanings. If that is something that you do, then it is only fitting you will want to use colors in your wedding that are reflective of your feeling you wish to share for the day. If a particular color influences your mood or your emotions then they may draw you to them when selecting the colors you are going to use

It is a good idea to explore what you can find in the two colors you have selected before you commit to them for the wedding. You can also check the following website for more color inspiration

Advice from Wuilmark Events

It was a great day today for a Monday!

Early today I met couple of my friends(Chris & Joel)for lunch. They both know that I have an event planning company and they know that I'm very created and always planning the next event...So while we were eating, talking and having a great time, suddenly Joel asked me two questions that stayed on my mind and I want to share with you!

Joel asked:Some people think hiring an event planner is an extra expense. Why do we need a wedding planner?

I said: Well, clearly my opinion of wedding planners is extremely high.

If you are planning a wedding you should be a guest on your own wedding. This is the day for you and your groom to be on the spotlight, so why would you try to do it all yourself or burden yourself? You and your spouse, friends and family are the real guests.

Hiring a wedding planner can make a great impact on how smooth everything goes on, on your wedding day. Brides and grooms are so much more relaxed, stress free and on time when they have someone to take care of all the details.

Joel asked:
Where do you get your inspiration?

I said: My inspiration comes from everywhere!

From fashion magazines, wedding magazines, blogs, wedding photographers, you name it! It's amazing to know how much info you can get from all those sources and create something with it!

Ok, that's all for now, hugs and kisses see you all next time...

Why Hire a Wedding Planner!

Planning a wedding means a lot of preparations, which becomes a full time job and it's always on your mind. You are trying to juggle work, have time for your personal life with family and friends, and have some down time on top of all of the wedding planning.

I know you might say your budget doesn't have any more room to add one more expense to your wedding day, but trust me! I don't know a better way to say it except that hiring a wedding planner will be the best decision you can make.

By hiring a wedding planner, you have someone else in charge...That doesn't mean you lose control of your plans at all...A planner will be there to listen to your wants and needs and help you come up with intelligent decisions. You will still make the final decision but you are assured of an expert advice.

By hiring a planner you can focus on your groom on the day of your wedding. Many wedding planners offer what most call a "Day of Coordination" or even having a wedding planner from the very beginning of your engagement, leaves you to enjoy your wedding weekend without the headaches.

You still want your Mom or best friend to take care of all the details on your wedding day...Trust me, your best friend want to be your best friend and enjoy the fun not work on your wedding day. Let your Mom enjoy being Mom and have the special mother/daughter moments, she has always dreamed of...Your Mom doesn't need to be running around checking on all of the last minute details, resolving any problems and ending up exhausted before your day even starts. Let your Mom help you dress, ride with you to the church and have some alone time with you before you walk down the aisle. Those will be the most memorable moments you both will remember for the rest of your life.

Remember, hiring a wedding planner should not be considered an extra expense to the budget, is a must!

Top reasons to hire a wedding planner:

*Relieve stress
*Get you organized
*Taking care of all the details
*Save you time and money
*Contacts to quality vendors & services
*Expertise on wedding issues
*Creative & modern ideas
*Peace of mind on your wedding day

And believe it or not, when the wedding is over, the planner still working!
It may seem impossible to believe now, but the day after your wedding, you won't want anything to do with weddings! A planner can take care of everything from returning tuxes, to having your dress cleaned and mailing out your pre-written Thank you cards.

So relax and enjoy your day, hire a wedding planner!

Tips for the Groom

Normally I will blog about the Brides but this one goes to all the Grooms out there...
You have made your proposal and made out your wedding guest list. You have interviewed wedding vendors until you thought you could take no more. You have helped to choose the wedding location and the male members of your wedding party and stuck to your wedding budget. Well, what else do you need to do as a Groom... here are a few tips for you to remember...

*On your wedding day, be there before the bride! Do not be late and make sure your half of the wedding party (groomsmen) are on time too...Even the ring bearer!

*As the groom you will be required to make a speech... A few points to remember: Most importantly, compliment your new spouse and don't be afraid to openly express your affection for her. Then similar praise is due to the bridesmaids. Obviously you will thank your parents, the bride's parents and your groomsmen. And if you want to win a few points, make special mention of the bride's mother and how lovely she looks this evening... And don't forget your own mother either...

*Obviously your best man and groomsmen will be there and all eager to toast your new demise. Remember, this is your wedding night, so watch your intake of alcohol. Drunk is not the condition in which to spend your first night of marital bliss.

*If you are not leaving immediately on a honeymoon, organize in advance what you are going to do for your first night together, and if it is to be a hotel, pick a nice one and enjoy using the room service.

*Weddings are a big event and they take a lot of planning. Very rarely does every detail go perfectly. This may not seem like a big deal to you, but your bride thinks that every wedding is perfect and that hers will also be perfect! Help your bride to keep things in perspective. Truly, the things that go wrong will be the things that you look back on with the fondest memories.
