2010 Wedding Trends!

For some reason I though I post this blog before but I guess not...Well, here is latest trends on weddings for 2010

For the Lovely Bride

Strapless dresses!... I know they been around for years but strapless gowns are perennial favorites, this season has brought back the off-the-shoulder look for brides who want to accentuate their neckline or draw attention to gorgeous jewelry.

Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses

For years, brides have been selecting their bridesmaid dresses, color and style; but the 2010 wedding trend takes the idea further. Choose only a color then let your bridesmaids find an off-the-rack dress of any designer that they like. Not only does this take some pressure off of you but it also ensures that women are choosing a dress they like and they'll be likely to actually wear again.

Favors

Personalized appreciation is back!...The effect that an event has on the guests is more noticeable than ever before, so the importance of a favor is felt more than ever. Be sure to appreciate those in attendance. It is not just an afterthought, omission or generic item. Think of local artisans, locally grown products, personal mementos, and on the spot print outs...

Backyard weddings at home
Intimate and personal affairs in the backyard are bigger than ever. Going home incorporates the continued trend of personalizing the wedding day experience. Smaller size guest lists, more intimate settings, grass roots weddings, elegant and detail driven, but in no way small on what counts...

Bright Colors
Yes! Colors are an important factor for any wedding. Monochromatic palettes-this doesn't mean muted colors, just single color bunches. Vibrant colors: orange, green, yellow, hot pink and peach.

Metal colors like gold, silver, copper and pewter.

And black is definitely the new black. Break the rules and show off the darker side of your event.

How Sweet It Is!

Love is in the air...And Valentine's Day is just 6 days away...

Some of us are probably still trying to get the last minute gift or still don't know what to get or do! Well, I have a few great ideas that I would like to share with you to make your Valentines very romantic.
  • Write little romantic notes and leave them everywhere (pockets, briefcase, lunchbox, car, mirror, in the bed, etc.)

  • Send each other flowers, or just get a single rose and gift to each other.

  • Set a bath with floating flowers and lots of candles.

  • Feed each other chocolates, strawberries or cherries.

If you take the time to make personal gift for your Valentines Day sweetheart, then it will be much appreciated. You can relive your grade school days and make a card with a specially written Happy Valentines Day poem inside from you!

Another personal great idea is to put together a scrapbook or photo collage of you and your sweetheart. You can either make an elegant collage of black and white photos or sepia photos on the computer...

Feel the love and have a great Valentines Day!

"Tables Extraordinaire"

Early Today I have a chance to attend "Tables Extraordinaire" an event hosted by the Holy Trinity Reception & Conference Center in Orlando. Strolling through spectacular decorated tables was amazing...But more amazing to chat with some folks like me! who share the same pasion for decor and event planing.

A display of 20 tables from different designers featured glamorous and elegant place settings around the ballroom...From delicate linens, flatware, sterling silverware, crystals, gorgeous floral arrangements, you name it! I found great ideas on table decor in one place.

The great thing about the event was that a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central FL.

Let me share a few pictures from today's event:
