Reading by Captain Corelli's

Oh Monday, Monday, I’m glad is almost over. I know, I know is just the beginning of the week, but, Oh boy, I tell you it was a busy Monday for me…I was so busy early that I didn’t even have time to blog with you all, but before this day is over I have something for you!

Here’s one reading I love, from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. It’s everything a reading should be- Romantic, poetic and meaningful!

Captain Corelli’s Mandolin
Louis de Bernieres

Love is a temporary madness,
it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides.
And when it subsides you have to make a decision.
You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together
that it is inconceivable that you should ever part.
Because this is what love is.
Love is not breathlessness,
it is not excitement,
it is not the promulgation of eternal passion.
That is just being “in love” which any fool can do.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away,
and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.
Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground,
and when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches,
they find that they are one tree and not two.

Everyone have a great evening!

Rehearsal Dinner Tips!

Is the week of your wedding and you are getting ready to have your rehearsal dinner. Typically, most families embrace the idea of a rehearsal dinner as it’s a great way to exchange ideas and good wishes.

For those families that live across the miles, a rehearsal dinner provides an excellent “getting to know you better” situation. And while a rehearsal dinner is not mandatory, it usually is expected. Relaxation is an important aspect of having a wedding. Especially if you want it to become everything you’ve dreamed it to be.

Who pays for the wedding rehearsal dinner?
Traditionally, the groom’s parents pay the rehearsal dinner. Nevertheless, anyone can host and finance the rehearsal dinner. Nothing is actually set in stone. Nowadays families bend and blend, creating their own traditions within their own families.

Important things to consider:
Created a guest list

Booking reservations in advance at a restaurant or venue

Choosing selections on the menu

Phoning those who are invited

Who should you invite?
Most guest lists include the bride, groom, their parents and the members of the wedding party. However, grandparents are often invited as well as the priest, rabbi, or clergyman performing the marriage ceremony. Out-of-town guests too, should be invited if you are inviting extended family.

If not a necessity to send out formal invitations, but if you do, your invitations should be very basic and simple. In addition to a map and driving directions (to the restaurant/venue) your statement should be very short and concise:

Please join us for a wedding rehearsal dinner in Honor of (Bride’s name) and (Groom’s name) at (this location) at (this time)

RSVP: (Hosts name) at (phone number)

Have fun and enjoyed your rehearsal dinner with your love ones!

Blessing for a Marriage

Good Morning and Happy Friday everyone,

Here is a beautiful prayer for all those who believe in the power of love!

May your marriage bring you all the exquisite excitements a marriage should bring, and may life grant you also patience, tolerance, and understanding.
May you always need one another - not so much to fill your emptiness as to help you to know your fullness. A mountain needs a valley to be complete; the valley does not make the mountain less, but more; and the valley is more a valley because it has a mountain towering over it. So let it be with you and you.
May you need one another, but not out of weakness.
May you want one another, but not out of lack.
May you entice one another, but not compel one another.
May you embrace one another, but not out encircle one another.
May you succeed in all important ways with one another, and not fail in the little graces.
May you look for things to praise, often say, "I love you!" and take no notice of small faults.
If you have quarrels that push you apart, may both o f you hope to have good sense enough to take the first step back.
May you enter into the mystery which is the awareness of one another's presence - no more physical than spiritual, warm and near when you are side by side, and warm and near when you are in separate rooms or even distant cities.
May you have happiness, and may you find it making one another happy.
May you have love, and may you find it loving one another.

Do I need a Wedding Planner!

Yes, the same question we hear all the time. But you know what? Is great to hear this question over and over so I can tell you what needs to be done during the day of your wedding. Remember is your day, you need to relax, you don’t have to be running around on your wedding day, leave everything to us "the experts" and enjoyed your wedding.

Here is a list of things we do for you on your wedding day:

We start with the ceremony preparation:

· Pinned corsages on the mothers, godmothers, special aunts, and readers

· Pinned boutonnieres on the fathers, groomsmen, and groom

· Distributed bouquets to the bridesmaids, flower girl, and bride

· Tied reserved signs to chairs for the ceremony

· Poured sand in vases in preparation for the sand ceremony

· Determined the color of the table linen for the ceremony (a last-minute addition)

· Found an out-of-the-way place for the string quartet to leave their instrument cases

· Discussed cues and the ceremony with the quartet

· Gave the reader her copy of the reading

The Ceremony:

· Cued the ceremony musicians

· Lined up the parents and bridal party before the ceremony

· Passed the marriage license to the officiant so he could fill in the form

· Held the wedding rings before the ceremony began

· Helped the flower girl down the steps to the ceremony so she didn’t trip over her long dress

· Held the bride with her dress and fixed her veil before she headed down the aisle

Reception preparation:

· Asked the caterer to get linens off the truck so the cake baker and DJ could begin setting up

· Made sure all the family members were in place for the formal photographs

· Worked with the florist when there was one table arrangement missing

· Asked the venue contact about where the DJ’s power supply was located

· Held up the bride’s train while the bridesmaids bustled underneath (often we’ll do the bustle on our own)

Reception:

· Politely invited guests to their seats so we could begin

· Lined up the bridal party before the introductions were made

· Worked with the DJ and caterer to ensure the timeline was upheld

· Brought the bride and groom drinks from the bar to their sweetheart table

· Updated the bride and groom before each major event of the reception

· Found the site manager when the one and only light bulb in the restroom was burned out

· Ensured the photographers and DJ ate their vendor meals when they wouldn’t miss a moment of the action

· Quickly showed the bride and groom how to cut their wedding cake

· Had a chair ready for the bride to sit on during the garter toss

· Boxed up two slices of cake for the flower girl and her father who had to leave early

· Boxed up two slices of cake for the bride and groom to eat in the limousine

· Passed out sparklers to the bridal party for the send-off

· Lit the sparklers once everyone was in place

· Had the driver move the limousine to the correct position in front of the house to allow guests to make a pathway from the front door for the send-off

· Made sure the caterer swept/mopped the floor at the end of the night (a venue requirement)

· Carried wedding gifts & leftover liquor to the family’s cars

Alright we’re keeping things moving:
· Directed guests to the right location for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception

· Offset the timeline so the photographer could get all the portraits done

· Showed the photographer the venue and several location options for formal photographs

· Did a final sweep of the building to ensure nobody left personal belongings

· Served as an incognito test lighting subject for the photographer

· Distributed vendor tips on behalf of the bride and groom

If you’re not planning on hiring a wedding day coordinator, think of who will do all these tasks when they arise on the wedding day. Also consider if that person will stick around through the end of the reception or if they’ll take advantage of the open bar and be worthless by midnight. Most of these things don’t fall under the caterer’s or venue’s responsibilities so don’t assume they’ll be handled by the professionals you’ve hired.

Wedding Poem!

I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance…

A church filled with flowers, friends, family and beautiful music…

I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for…

He said one that would make me his wife!

Second Dress!

Thinking to have a second dress for your reception? It may not be the most practical idea but who says you have to be practical on your wedding day :)

Sure, you look stunning on your wedding gown, but you know you want to feel comfortable, free, relax; you want to dance the night away!

Certainly having the second dress doesn’t have to be an expensive designer dress. You can either get a nice white or ivory dress at your local bridal boutique or consider wear a bridesmaids dress, it doesn’t have to be too formal like the first dress.

Consider changing your second dress after your first dance, father/daughter dance and maybe after you had taken some great pictures with your bridal party. Change your dress once the dance floor is open and in full swing!

Feeding Your Bridal Party!

Ok, lovely brides, this may seem like a minor detail but have you given some thought as to what you will feed your bridal party on the day of your wedding? Think about where you are getting ready and what you can conveniently feed them. Whether it is sandwiches, fresh fruit, salads, wraps, drinks, whatever, don’t forget they need to eat…and so do you! Remember to eat something on your wedding day and drink water, the last thing you want to do is keel over at the altar!

Trying The Wedding Dress!

Yes! Finally is time to go shopping for your wedding dress, but before you go dress shopping, invest in a pair of nude panties and a nude strapless bra that fit you well so you can wear them while you’re trying on gowns. Are you a little tummy conscious? No worries call your bridal salon ahead and see if they have slimmer’s for you to use or if you should bring your own. Bring your best friend, mom or sister, not an entourage. And one more thing, very important, don’t forget to bring your wedding shoes or a pair of heals close to the height you want to wear on the day of your wedding. Even though many dressing rooms have a raised platform to simulate heels, it's not the same as actually wearing the shoes. The whole carriage of your frame changes depending on the height of your shoes and can completely alter the appearance and fit of a dress.

Have fun shopping!

Bridesmaids Dresses!

Have fun adding different colors and shades for your bridesmaids dresses...
If it makes sense for your color scheme, you can even let bridesmaids pick their own color...Just make sure you communicate with them and give them some ideas on hues an shades. Many bridal stores carry bridesmaids dresses in matching colors but different styles, so the next time you're out with your girls go to the same store and get the dresses together; this will insure that all of the dress colors match exactly which is particularly important when the styles are not all the same...

Night At The Museum

On Monday, I had the honor to attend an event only for wedding planners, held at the Orlando Museum of Art. I have the chance to mix and mingle with some of my colleagues in the wedding industry and meet new ones, we all have a blast!

The main event took place at the Martin and Gracia Andersen Rotunda, where I met some of the finest vendors in the wedding industry. Fine catering was provided by Arthur’s Catering, which was one of my favorites. I had the chance to met Lori Player, Event Designer for Arthur's and some of her staff. The floral décor was provided by Lee Forrest Design, cocktails provide by ABC fine wine & spirits and music by Tagas Events.

One of my favorite’s rooms of the evening was the grand gallery hall which is located in the heart of the museum which features Dale Chihuly’s signature glass sculpture, Citron and Cobalt Tower. This room can be transform into a reception area, cocktail area, or ceremony area. Last night the grand gallery hall was transformed into a ceremony area, and A Chair Affair, Inc provided chiavari chairs for the room.

There is no doubt The Orlando Museum of Art offers a variety of unique spaces for all kinds of events.

Definitely looking forward to coordinate an event at this stunning venue in the near future!

PhotoMingle

When it comes to weddings celebration, couples are always looking for different ways to impress their guest during the reception; this could be from the décor, food, music, or life entertainment.

For example, many couples like the idea to have a photo booth at their venue; this has become very popular in mostly every wedding... But now there is another new brand that combines pictures to a whole new level and it calls PhotoMingle.

PhotoMingle is a multi-touch screen system that displays photos in real time from your wedding. Your guest will be able to take their own photos and video, and then add personal messages to them. All with the simple and elegant power of their fingertips! With dozens of touch points, multiple users can interact at the same time, creating a dynamic and unparalleled experience. The cool thing about it is that each photo and message created by your guests is saved and put into a custom designed MingleBook. This is a great new way to have a guestbook!
