Tips for the Groom

Normally I will blog about the Brides but this one goes to all the Grooms out there...
You have made your proposal and made out your wedding guest list. You have interviewed wedding vendors until you thought you could take no more. You have helped to choose the wedding location and the male members of your wedding party and stuck to your wedding budget. Well, what else do you need to do as a Groom... here are a few tips for you to remember...

*On your wedding day, be there before the bride! Do not be late and make sure your half of the wedding party (groomsmen) are on time too...Even the ring bearer!

*As the groom you will be required to make a speech... A few points to remember: Most importantly, compliment your new spouse and don't be afraid to openly express your affection for her. Then similar praise is due to the bridesmaids. Obviously you will thank your parents, the bride's parents and your groomsmen. And if you want to win a few points, make special mention of the bride's mother and how lovely she looks this evening... And don't forget your own mother either...

*Obviously your best man and groomsmen will be there and all eager to toast your new demise. Remember, this is your wedding night, so watch your intake of alcohol. Drunk is not the condition in which to spend your first night of marital bliss.

*If you are not leaving immediately on a honeymoon, organize in advance what you are going to do for your first night together, and if it is to be a hotel, pick a nice one and enjoy using the room service.

*Weddings are a big event and they take a lot of planning. Very rarely does every detail go perfectly. This may not seem like a big deal to you, but your bride thinks that every wedding is perfect and that hers will also be perfect! Help your bride to keep things in perspective. Truly, the things that go wrong will be the things that you look back on with the fondest memories.
